I'm Abdessalam, a Lead SAP Commerce Cloud Developer with over 10 years of experience delivering large-scale e-commerce platforms in complex and demanding environments.

I specialize in the design, modernization, and stabilization of critical digital services, often within long-running product teams or large replatforming initiatives. My focus is on building scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that support complex business rules and evolve reliably over time.

Beyond hands-on development, I play a technical leadership role, working at the intersection of engineering, product, and delivery. I contribute to technical decision-making, support prioritization, mentor developers, and ensure high standards of quality from design through production.

I hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, and I value clean architecture, pragmatic decision-making, and long-term sustainability over short-term fixes.

2026

NATIONAL POSTAL OPERATOR

I worked as a Lead SAP Commerce Cloud Developer on a large-scale digital service allowing users to send online letters and registered mail without visiting a physical post office. Messages are submitted online, then automatically printed, processed, and delivered through the national postal network.

In this role, I was involved both in the design and implementation of new features and in the continuous improvement and stabilization of the platform. I actively participated in functional and technical scoping workshops, translated business needs into technical enablers, and supported product and delivery teams in prioritization decisions.

As the technical reference for the team, I contributed to modeling complex business domains such as offers, content management, billing, and VAT, while ensuring API robustness, platform security, and production reliability. I also supported backend developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and production incident resolution.

NATIONAL POSTAL OPERATOR

As part of a large replatforming program, I worked as a Lead SAP Commerce Cloud Developer on the implementation of a mail forwarding service, allowing users to automatically redirect their postal mail to a new address for a defined period. This service involves complex business rules and integrations with multiple internal and external systems.

I contributed to the project from its early stages, participating in functional and technical scoping workshops with partners and stakeholders. I was responsible for translating business requirements into technical enablers, structuring the backlog, and supporting the Product Owner and Scrum Master in prioritization activities.

In parallel, I designed and implemented critical backend components, while acting as the technical reference for the team. My responsibilities included API design and security, backend development supervision, code reviews, and ensuring overall platform stability through regular production releases and post-production support.

NATIONAL POSTAL OPERATOR

Within a large-scale replatforming program, I joined the Checkout Pro stream, responsible for designing and implementing a dedicated checkout flow for professional customers. The objective was to rebuild the order and payment journey from scratch while ensuring consistency and reuse with the existing B2C customer path.

I worked on complex functional topics such as B2B pricing models, VAT handling, professional payment methods, delivery options, and checkout customization. Given strong technical constraints and tight deadlines, I played a key role in both solution design and hands-on implementation, ensuring robustness and scalability.

I also contributed to the integration of a marketplace solution, participating in architectural decisions and implementing backend components required to connect multiple systems. In parallel, I supported frontend and backend developers through knowledge sharing, technical assistance, and code reviews.

2021

I joined the Customs 21 team at the launch of a project to implement a customs duties and taxes payment solution in response to new European Union regulations effective July 1st, 2021. Users were now required to pay customs duties and VAT on imported shipments, with the postal operator responsible for clearing them.

In my role as Lead SAP Commerce Cloud Developer, I participated in all project phases, from functional and technical scoping to implementation and production rollout. I contributed to modeling payment flows, designing the backend architecture, and developing the features necessary for taxation and user interface management.

Post-launch, I ensured platform stability, resolved technical incidents, and implemented improvements in the payment process. I also guided the team through technical decisions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to maintain high-quality standards throughout the project.

FRENCH LUXURY FASHION HOUSE

2020

I contributed as a Senior SAP Commerce Cloud Developer to the rollout of a major luxury e-commerce platform in the UK. I implemented market-specific features not covered by the core system, integrating multiple backend systems to ensure seamless operation and data consistency.

My work focused on delivering stable, high-quality, and maintainable solutions while supporting the team with technical guidance and code reviews. This project strengthened my experience in complex international rollouts and multi-system integration in a high-standard retail environment.

2018

I contributed as a Software Engineer within a major financial institution, enhancing and customizing internal banking tools built around a complex trading and risk management platform. My work included developing new features, ensuring stability of existing processes, and integrating internal applications to support various financial products.

Due to the diversity of the software used, I worked across multiple technologies, including Java, C++, and PHP, gaining experience in adapting solutions and integrating systems in a heterogeneous technical environment.

This experience strengthened my expertise in enterprise-grade backend architecture, financial software, and maintainable solution delivery in a fast-paced and regulated context.

COOKWARE MANUFACTURER

2016

I contributed as a Software Engineer on a large-scale SAP Hybris platform supporting a major cookware group. My work spanned multiple areas: production maintenance, performance optimization, and automated functional testing.

I ensured platform stability and operational reliability, monitored external interfaces, and analyzed performance issues involving JVM, Solr, SQL, and web services. I also implemented multi-threaded solutions and optimized queries to improve platform responsiveness.

Additionally, I developed a cross-platform automated testing framework for desktop and mobile, using Selenide, Appium, and Selenium, ensuring non-regression and high-quality releases.
